The NPC is delighted to announce a packed programme of distinguished speakers for the 2024 Annual Convention in Blackpool.
Our most important event of the year will be held in the Lancastrian Suite at The Imperial Hotel on The Promenade on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th September
Delegates will hear discussions on the key issues affecting older people in the UK today, from the impact of digital technology on our lives, and the future of the state pension, to the controversial loss of the universal Winter Fuel Payment, and the crisis in our NHS.
Among our line-up of speakers confirmed so far, are: Dr Katie Bramall-Stainer, Chair of the British Medical Association-England GP Committee (GPC); Bryn Davies, Lord Davies of Brixton; Phoebe Sleet, Digital Poverty Alliance; Morgan Vine, Director of Policy and Influencing at Independent Age; Caren Evans, Officer, Unite the Union; and Vicky Hicks, Head of Engagement, Digital Voice.
One of the highlights of the two days will undoubtedly be a keynote speech by Heléna Herklots CBE, the much-lauded retiring Commissioner for Older People, in Wales who will share what she has learned during her time in office.
There will be plenty of time for questions and networking, with an Information Session from 11am on Tuesday at which free teas, coffees and biscuits will be served to delegates, courtesy of Visit Blackpool.
Tickets are priced at just £15 for two days, and £10 for one day. We will be sending out more details of programme soon. Booking as early as possible is advised.
Don't forget that when you book your train tickets or your hotel, or buy other things online, that you could be raising free donations for National Pensioners' Convention with EasyFundraising. Find out more on the button below
